The Arts Faculty of St James College offers a broad and exciting curriculum across Years 7 – 10. Throughout the junior years, both Visual and Performing Arts operate as a core subjects across one semester for each subject. These subjects allow students to gain fundamental knowledge in the areas of Art, Drama, Music and Visual Communication Design.
The elective stream at Years 9 & 10 provides students with the opportunity to study the following subjects:

- Visual Communication Architectural Design
- Visual Communication Design
Each of these subjects has a strong focus on contemporary art practices, and works towards preparing our students with skills and techniques required for VCE in the aforementioned subjects.
As a Faculty we have a strong commitment to guiding and encouraging all students to fully immerse themselves in the creative process and continually challenge themselves in a safe and respectful environment. This is achieved both through classroom teaching and the extensive extra curricula activities they can involve themselves in, such as:
