It is no secret that physical activity is necessary to a person’s well-being. Apart from the obvious benefits such as reducing the risk of obesity, diabetes, asthma symptoms, sleeping disorders and mental illness, regular physical activity during the school day is strongly associated with higher concentration levels and composed behaviour in the classroom.
St James College offers an exciting Health and Physical Education curriculum that caters for all abilities. Our goal is to help students appreciate the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and enjoy exercising with their friends. As you can imagine, this is definitely a popular subject area!
Our Physical Education staff are skilled in game sense teaching, where students are provided the opportunity to practice and improve their skills under game-like conditions. Modified games and fun skill drills allow students to explore their critical and creative thinking, problem solving, teamwork and sportsmanship.
